CocoClean
When you receive the bottle (from €22.95), the coconut oil is hard and white (like in a jar). You heat the bottle under the hot tap, you only need one cap and that is quite quick, because it will take a while to get the entire bottle into liquid form in this cold weather (in the summer you will see that the coconut oil hardly solidifies anymore). You fill the cap, put it in your mouth and start pulling oil. Coco Clean advises you to rinse for 5/10 minutes, spit out & smile! Due to the high content of lauric acid, it deeply cleans your mouth and teeth. It removes discolorations caused by coffee and tea, among other things, and you should see a difference after 10 days. I can't remember when I noticed the difference years ago, but I can't live without it anymore. If you don't do it for a few days, you will notice a difference, really! In addition to cold-pressed coconut oil, this bottle also contains essential oils of tea tree, myrrh and chamomile, which protect your teeth. By the way, I didn't see any mint on the back of the bottle under the ingredients, even though it does taste like that, really wonderfully fresh. I am also very curious about the Extra CoCo version Coco Clean (they also have a lemon and watermelon flavor). And that bottle looks great in every kitchen and bathroom! I advise you to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Your mouth becomes increasingly full of saliva, but you really get used to it. You spit the oil out into the toilet to prevent any blockages in the long term. If you spit it out and the oil is white, you've done it long enough. If it is still transparent, you need to steep a little longer the next morning. Then just brush your teeth and you're done.
Oil Pulling
Oil pulling comes from Ayurveda, an ancient total healing method from India, but you may have already read about it in one of my first items . This detoxification procedure addresses, among other things, gum problems, better skin, bad breath, headaches, balancing your hormone balance, better functioning of your intestines and even a hangover. And your teeth become cleaner (almost no plaque) and whiter naturally. Just ask my dentist
By swishing the oil in your mouth, your brain 'thinks' that you are eating. Your digestion is stimulated the entire time the oil is in your mouth and as a result of this accelerated digestion, your body can transport waste products faster. The oil in your mouth makes your body produce more saliva, because the oil is recognized as food. You also notice this in your mouth, which is becoming increasingly full. Our body loses some of its waste products through the mucous membranes, including saliva. The oil in your mouth combines with the saliva and waste products. So it is very important not to swallow the oil and to drink enough water to 'dilute' the remaining waste products so that you do not burden your kidneys too much. Because your body removes waste products during these 15/20 minutes and you don't take anything, it has time to repair tissues. It has been scientifically proven that oil pulling detoxifies your body. The vitamin E (antioxidant) in coconut oil also has an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effect thanks to lauric acid and monolaurin.
Do you oil pull too? If so, let me know how you like it?
